The Lake County Theatre Company is currently accepting applications for the Joan Holman Memorial scholarship. This scholarship is geared toward graduating seniors who have been active in theater and/or the performing arts. This year the theater company will award a $1,000 scholarship to the student who is deemed to best fulfill the requirements. If there are a large number of qualified applicants, a second scholarship may be awarded.
Samantha Hughes of Lower Lake High School will be attending Butte Community College to acquire a Welding Certificate after taking first place at the SkillsUSA MIG Welding Competition this last year. Christopher Fischer of Middletown High School will be attending either Santa Rosa Junior College for a Diesel Equipment Technology Certificate or Shasta College for a Diesel Technology Certificate. We are very proud of these two young people. They both carried exceptional GPAs and provided outstanding letters of recommendation. We wish them all the best in their endeavors!
The Lake County Resource Conservation District has presented three $500 awards to Lake County scholars, as part of its ongoing Meisenbach Scholarship Program.
