Hi, Guys! There’s some live music happening this weekend so I thought I’d give you a little heads up, kind of a mini music guide. Keep in mind that the “new normal” will be expected from everybody – social distancing and masks will be required.
On Thursday the Saw Shop Public House in Kelseyville will feature Tony Neves starting at 6:00. Just in time to check out the newest menu…
On Friday evening the Middletown Arts Center will host an Open Mic from 6 to 9:00. All musicians, poets, spoken wordists, philatelists, rappers and actors are welcome to attend. Free, although donations are greatly appreciated. Check out the works of some of the South County’s best artists and sculptors while you’re at it.
The Greenview Restaurant in HVL will have Carlos Garay on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All performances will be from 5 to 8:00.
On Saturday morning the Lake County Farmers Finest Farmers Market will present a taste of New Orleans with Andy Rossoff from 10AM to 1:00 at the Floriculture Bldg in the Lake County Fairgrounds. On Tuesday come enjoy the piano wizardry of David Neft from 10AM to 1:00 at Library Park in Lakeport. And remember to stock up on some of The LC’s locally grown fruit and vegetables.
The Riviera Hills Lounge in the Riviera will feature a most excellent Blues retrospective from Dave Broida and Blues Farm on Saturday evening from 5 to 9:00. Outdoor table reservations are recommended.
On Friday evening the Blue Wing Saloon in Upper Lake will present The Majide Trio from 5:30 to 8:00. On Saturday expect David Neft to be “tickling the ivories” from 5:30 to 8:00. For Sunday Brunch, guitarist David Landon will be laying down some breakfast blues from 10:30 to 2:30. For Sunday Supper, enjoy a good meal while listening to The Majide Trio with special guest, David Landon. This event will be recorded and replayed next Saturday at 7:00 on our most excellent local radio station KPFZ 88.1. For Monday Blues come see the Clean Sweep Trio from 5:30 to 8:00. All shows at the Blue Wing will be outside with limited seating, so reservations are strongly recommended.
On Sunday the Ely Stage Stop on Soda Bay Road will host their First Sunday Fiddlers Jam. Lovers of Bluegrass music won’t want to miss this event. Music is from noon ‘til 2:00, but, heck! Check out the museum and get a good taste of Lake County History while you’re at it. Admission is free.
On Monday afternoon come get your USRDA of Fargo Brothers when the Bros Rock The Park (Richmond Park that is…) from 12 to 4:00. It’s Labor Day – come see what a labor of love looks like…
Not too bad if I say so myself… This is just a sampling of what’s gonna be in store once we whip this pandemic, but I emphasize again, social distancing and masks will be required at all of these venues for these music events. So if and when you go out on this Labor Day Weekend, have fun, but please be safe.
