What a wonderful and welcome surprise!
I always put together the music guide on Monday, then post it on Tuesday. It was maybe around 3:00 Monday afternoon when I heard the distinctive sounds of rain dropping on my roof. So, I went out to investigate and, lo and behold, it was indeed raining. My first reaction was to race back inside to grab my keys so to close the windows on both my vehicles. Then, having taken care of that, I stood out in the rain with my face towards the clouds until it ceased 10 minutes later. Once done, I stood where I was until my clothes dried, maybe 15 minutes after that. Sometimes the simplest event can be most cathartic. Please allow me a moment to enjoy the memory…
Here’s the live music guide for the week of 9/14 through 9/19…
On Tuesday (now declared the first day of the week), Kelsey Creek Brewing in K’ville will present Buskin’ for Brewskis, featuring Danny Prather, Mike Guarniero and friends. But please keep your excitement down just a tad… the fun doesn’t stop there, there’s some really good handcrafted beers, ales and seltzers, enough to keep you all yelling for more, (it’s hard to decide which is more addicting, B4B or the brews… maybe both!). But don’t take my word for it, come see for yourself… music is from 3 to 6:00.

Sadly, Folks, the Kelseyville Kickin’ in the Country Street Dance is coming to a close for 2022, but don’t let that keep you away from the grand finale featuring Cajun masters Tom Rigney and Flambeau. Wait a minute – the K-Juggs ain’t really from Kentucky, and they play some of the best ‘90s Alternative Rock as well as many other songs you’ll definitely remember. And they’re really good! See you all there…

Summer’s almost over, folks. It won’t be too much longer before you’re adding another blanket to the bed, bringing the sweaters and sweatshirts out of mothballs, and planning comfort food meals for the coming months. Things start to slow down; the mornings light up later, and the evenings darken earlier. Even our much-loved live music scene feels the changes. As we all wax poetically over the coming Autumn and beyond, just remember – there are venues that provide music all year round. All is not to be lost. In the meantime, if and when you go out this weekend to support our local musicians and the venues that provide live music, maybe bring a sweater in case it gets cool, but have a fun time, and please be safe… Go Niners!
