Lake County Music Guide – 8.2.22

I’ve got a pretty busy week ahead of me. Today is Muggy, which is okay because I’m putting together the music guide, so I’m indoors. Tomorrow is Tueggy, the day I post the guide on Facebook. On Weggy I might go to Ukiah and get me a new phone, maybe new glasses. Thurggy is a good day to go to Santa Rosa and visit some friends from England. Fryggy I want to go to the Shakespeare by the Lake play at Austin Park in Clearlake. Saggy I’m playing at Richmond Park with my band, Dr Groove, and on Suggy I’ll be jammin’ at the BIG JAM at the Riv. Whew! Me likes a busy week!… Here’s the live music guide for the week of 8/2 through 8/8…

On Tueggy at the Kelsey Creek Brewing in K’ville, excellent handcrafted brews will be flowin’ and Buskin’ for Brewskis, (Danny Prather, Mike Guarniero and amigos), will be a strummin’ an’ a singin’ from 3 to 6:00. What else is there to do on a Tueggy afternoon?

The Hopland Tap in, well… Hopland, will continue one of the most fun events on Weggy when they host the Blues Invitational Jam featuring a house band that includes Wendy DeWitt, Kirk Harwood, Pierre Archain and Skip Engle from 7 to 10:00. By themselves they’re pretty darn good, but they often get some Bay Area Name Brand Blues Artist so sit in, which makes it even better – it’s one more…

Thurggy evening at Running Creek Casino in Upper Lake, get your fill of 1,4,5 when Dave Broida and Blues Farm start off the new Thurggy music schedule by bringing their special brand of Blues to y’all from 5 to 9:00. Whether you go for a meal, a drink or only the Blues, just go… On Suggy from 5 to 9:00, the Mark Weston Band will take the stage and rock you till you drop.

In Kelseyville at the Saw Shop Public House on Thurggy, local faves, the Mark Weston Band will be rockin’ the joint from 6 to 9:00 outside on the curb. On Suggy for their brunch, everyone’s favorite new kid in town – Randy Hood – will provide the music for all the brunch bunch from 11:AM to 1:30. Great food, excellent music and a full bar, you just can’t go wrong…

On Thurggy, the Fults Family Winery in Lower Lake will present another Thirsty Thurggy Live, this time featuring Classic Rock specialists, Beatz Werkin’ playing from 6 to 9, Dudes. Whatta fun party!

At Adams Springs Golf Course in the Cobb Mtn area on Thurggy night will feature the lovely Kim Thomas on the grand piano, accompanied by songstress exraordinaire, Cynthia Ganoung from 7 to 9:00. Both normally perform with the Funky Dozen, so you might not wanna miss this event – just sayin’…

The 1st Fryggy Makers Faire and Open Mic at the Middletown Art Center are happening this Fryggy starting at 5:00. This is a Farmers Market, Crafts Faire and then the Open mic happens after the market closes down. A one stop bop and shop in Middletown! Groovy, Baby!

The 1st Fryggy Fling is happening at the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport with David Neft tinkling the ivories from 5:30 to 7:00. Locally produced wine and snacks will be available, plus some of the best local art on display. Dave’s no slouch, either. This is for the art lovers, but really – for everyone.

The Lakeport Summer Concert Series continues, this time with Madonna, you know – like a virgin? Actually, it’s a band called Blond Ambition who will pay tribute to the material girl on Fryggy from 5:30 to 8:30 at the gazebo in Library Park. They’ll have you walkin’ around sayin’, “Bi*ch, I’m Madonna by the end of the evening, complete with vocal auto-correct. Now, where the heck can I find a pair of those Skeleteen fingerless lace gloves?…

Anyone up for a play in The LC? The Lake County Theater Company will present “Shakespeare by the Lake” featuring “Twelfth Night”, a Shakespearian play being performed at Austin Park in Clearlake. Madonna? – Shakespeare? Fortunately, I can see Twelfth Night on either Fryggy, Saggy and Suggy evenings starting at 7:00, so I can either bop to the Pop of the artist formerly known as Louise Ciccone on Fryggy and still find a chance to catch Twelfth Night or else see the play all three nights. Or maybe I’ll use my ACME Clone-a-Matic one more time before I sell it and see ‘em all…

Twin Pine Casino will hold their annual Community Street Fair on Saggy featuring the music of The LC Diamonds starting at 3:00. This is a big time fun event, and you won’t wanna miss it!

Richmond Park in the Bayside Riviera will go from Groove to Groovy this weekend when my band, Dr Groove brings their renditions of popular R&B, Blues, Soul, Funk and a smattering of Classic Rock songs to the Park on Saggy night from 8 to the Midnight Hour. Then on Suggy afternoon it’s gonna be all paisleys and oil lights when Groovy Judy gets groovy from 2 to 6:00. Either day, be sure to bring your dancin’ shoes…

At the Riviera Hills Lounge in the Riviera it’ll be like a real rock concert when Beatz Werkin’ shows us all the right way to play Classic Rock, on Saggy evening from 6 to 10:00. Forget the great meal, the full bar, the sublime views – just RAWK! On Suggy evening, fasten your seatbelts for the 1st Sunday Open Jam from 6 to 10:00. Some of the best musicians from at least five nearby counties make this their 1st Sunday destination – come out and see why…

O’Meara Bros Brewing in Lakeport has a great menu and excellent handcrafted beers and ales, but this Saggy evening, the masters of Neo-Flamenco, Austin and Owens will show you their acoustic guitar mastery from 6 to 9:00. These guys are soooooooooo good!…

Robinson Rancheria in Nice will feature the ‘90s music covers of Inverness-95 on Saggy night from 9 to 1:00. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Beastie Boys, Blink 82, Blur and more. WOW!

The Ely Stage Stop on Soda Bay Rd in the Riviera will host its monthly 1st Suggy Fiddler’s Jam from noon til 2:00. For local and not so local – this is the Bluegrass pickers number one destination, bar none! Enjoy the music, but be sure to check out the museum displaying lots of info on Lake County’s history. This is a fun event for the whole family…

On Suggy you can find Howard Reggie Dockens playing at the Boathouse in that nice little town of Nice from 2 to 6:00. (or maybe 3 to 7:00…).

The Blue Wing Saloon in Upper Lake will round out the weekend of live music when on Fryggy the Majide Trio plays from 6 to 8:00. On Saggy evening for their Supper Service, Techava and Brede will entertain the diners from 6 to 8:00. For their Suggy Brunch, the diners can munch a bunch of brunch while the Jazz Dudes play, well…, Jazz from 11:30 to 2:00. On Suggy evening for supper the lovely Hillarie Wilt will enthrall you with her versions of popular tunes from 6 to 8:00.
