Lake County Music Guide 10.14.21

I spent part of the early afternoon watching from a distance the CalFire planes circling around a small brush fire in the Lower Lake area. These guys are spectacular – they’ve gotten it down to a science, that’s just how good they are. I can’t say enough about how thankful I am to the service they provide. You CalFire guys and gals rock! Hey, we’ve got another fun-filled weekend is in store for y’all. Here’s the live music guide for the week of 10/12 to 10/19…

Get ready to have some fun Thursday when Dave Broida and Blues Farm lay down the 1,4,5 outside on the curb at The Saw Shop Public House in Kelseyville from 6 to 9. Excellent food, full bar – then let DB&BF do the rest…

On Sunday come enjoy an excellent Brunch with the music of the Rural Jazz Collective. Tom Aiken and the boys are happy to announce guest artist, Matt Rothstein sitting in on sax and vocals, from 11 to 1:00. Not a bad idea to make reservations for either show/meal…

On Friday, Dr Groove is back at The Spot in Clearlake warming things up. Come get in your USRDA of R&B, Blues, Funk, Rock, bad puns and good times from 6 to 9, Dudes..

Dave Broida and Blues Farm will be bringing the 12 bars to you on Saturday evening from 6 to 9:00. They’ve always been a crowd favorite here at the Spot. Come see why…, (the fish tacos are the bomb…).

Patton Leatha’s gonna be turning up the heat Friday and Saturday nights at Twin Pine Casino. Whether they play slow sultry jams or laying out the Funk, you’re gonna wanna dance. Both nights from 9 to 1:30.

Robinson Rancheria Lounge will present on Friday Jason Angode from 5 to 9:00. On Saturday come get a load outta the band, Outlaw Mariachi, LA’s premier Rock Mariachi band when they hit the stage. I just watched their promo and have no doubt – this is gonna be big time fun, (imagine a mariachi version of Pink Floyd’s, “The Wall”). Check out their vids, then check ‘em out!

On Saturday morning the Farmer’s Finest Farmers Market, which is held at Steele Winery off Hwy 29 near Finley, will present fresh locally homegrown fruit and vegetables as well as an assortment of handcrafted items that none of us can live without. Making the experience even more pleasant will be the music of The Bridge Band from 10AM to 1:00.

The Riviera Hills Lounge in the Riviera has brought live music back inside for your comfort, and this Saturday it’s Dr Groove bringing you all the R&B, Funk, Blues and Rock you require from 6 to 10:00. And you can still catch those spectacular views and sunsets. Just can’t go wrong… Reservations are recommended…

O’Meara Bros Brewing in Lakeport will feature the music of one man band Holus Bolus. Pretty interesting vids on Facebook. With a great menu and some excellent handcrafted beers and ales, it might be worth checking out. It’s all good stuff, Maynard…

Rise up with Rising Signs… Hopkins Fire benefit for their drummer who lost everything when his home was burned. Saturday, 6 to 9:00 at Rivino Winery in Ukiah.

In beautiful Potter Valley, Howard Reggie Dockens will be rockin’ Hoppers Corner from 8 to 11:00.R&B Sax specialist Terry Hanck and Band will be playing at The Buckingham Country Club on Eastlake Dr on Saturday from 6 to 9:00. If you missed him at the last K’ville Street dance, here’s another chance, you won’t be disappointed…

The conspicuous absence of Those Fabulous Furry Fargo Bros will come to a Lake County screeching, (well, actually rockin’…) stop when on Sunday they rock the deck at The Boathouse in that nice little town of Nice from 2 to 6:00. Those of you who’ve been all scratchy and anxious for your Fargo fix, the wait will be over. BTW, the Boathouse has changed their menu with a little more international flair, (no, Mojo – not schnitzel and warm potato salad…). I had the Teriyaki Chicken, which was excellent, but I wish I’d ordered the Adobo, which others said was outstanding. Our drummer Ryan G said their burgers are to die for, so there’s so much to choose from. Food and Fargos – what a concept…

The Greenview Restaurant will present on Sunday until further notice, Carlos Garay outside on the patio from 4 to 7:00. Musically, this guy has become the flavor of the decade – be sure to catch him before the decade ends…

Four nights of live music isn’t that unusual at The Blue Wing Saloon. This week is no different. On Friday come hear the delightful Torch Numbers, Blues Classics and other popular tunes from a bygone era from 6 to 9:00. Saturday brings you the music of Dr Paul Farley from 6 to 8:00. For their Sunday Brunch enjoy the music of Twining Time from 11:30 to 2:00. Sunday evening brings us Chris Forshay from 6 to 8:00. Monday Bluz will bring us the fun Chicago Classic Blues and other Bluesy stuff of Dave Broida and Blues Farm from 6 to 9:00. Reservations to any and all of these shows are strongly recommended…

Karaoke Korner and Open Mic/Jams On Wednesday the Spot in Clearlake has Karaoke from 6 to 9:00. On Friday the American Legion Hall in Clearlake has Karaoke from 6 to 9:00. On Friday The Barn in Clearlake Oaks and Still Kick’n will host on an Open Mic/Jam on Saturday, (note the new day…).

I’m sitting here drinking a can, (32 oz) of Kelsey Creek Brewing’s Liquid Sunshine Pale Ale, and although it doesn’t bring on any of those vibrant colors and weird altered images I vaguely remember from a younger time, it was certainly better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick – maybe even better! Expect mildly hot temps this coming weekend, which makes it perfect to go out and enjoy what The LC has to offer. So if and when you go out, have fun but please be safe… (gotta get me some of that Adobo…)
