Just wanted to pass off the few live music events happening this weekend. As a reminder, all of these venues strongly recommend wearing protective masks and the practice of social distancing.

On Thursday you can get a great meal and hear the dulcet tones of Tony Neves from 5 to 8:00 at the Saw Shop Public House in Kelseyville. Reservations are recommended.

The Blue Wing Saloon in Upper Lake will feature on Friday evening the Old Standards, Classic Blues and Torch Songs of The Majide Trio. David Neft on piano and vocals Saturday evening from 5:30 to 8:00. For Sunday Brunch expect the music of 2 Diamonds from noon until 2:00. For their Sunday Supper The Majide Trio is back for your dining pleasure from 5:30 to 8:00. If it’s good Blues you’re looking for, TC Culp and the Blue Reptiles will be laying down the 1,4,5 for Blues Monday from 5 to 8. It’s always recommended that you make reservations for any and all of these Blue Wing shows. Al shows are outside.

The Greenview Restaurant in HVL presents Carlos Garay outside on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 to 8:00.

The Middletown Arts Center is hosting an Open Mic on Friday evening from 6 to 9:00. This is open to all musicians or other performance artists. While you’re there, check out the local art on display.

On Saturday morning from 10 to 1:00 the Farmers Finest Farmers Market will feature the music of Hillarie Wilt at the Floriculture Bldg in the Lake County Fairgrounds. Stock up on locally grown fruit and vegetables.

At Richmond Park on the water in the Riviera The Fargo Bros Band will be tearing it up from 2 to 6:00 Saturday afternoon. Plenty of boat slips, come by water…

Hey, when the Fargos are done, make it a full day of live music by coming up to The Riviera Hills Lounge where Dr. Groove will be laying down the groove out on the patio Saturday evening from 5 to 9:00. Beautiful sunsets are only one of the best features of the Lounge.

On Sunday afternoon the Ely Stage Stop on Soda Bay Rd will feature its once a month First Sunday Fiddlers Jam. Lovers of Bluegrass and excellent music should make this their destination for Sunday afternoon.

Just to remind you once again, all of these venues strongly recommend the wearing of protective masks and the practice of social distancing. Plus, all of these events will take place outdoors, so if you want to take advantage of 2020’s last hot weekend, have fun, but please be safe…

Mike Guarniero

Article by Mike Guarniero

Mike has been playing professionally, both acoustic and electric, for 40+ years. He paid his dues in a robust Sonoma County music scene during the '80s and '90s, then DJ'd for 10 years after moving to Lake County in 1996. After retiring from his job of 26 years, because he recognized a growing local music scene, he decided to devote his time to playing live music again. He's never looked back. Along with his regular band, Dr. Groove, he has filled in on lead guitar for local bands, (Fargo Bros, Blues Farm, C.A.M. Band, Borrowed Time, Time Travelers). He's played acoustic guitar at a some of our local wineries, restaurants, farmers Markets and art galleries. He's also a semi-regular supporting various local Open Mics around Lake County. He writes and records original songs and has recorded original demos for other performers as well. For the last three years, he has posted on Facebook a local music guide called the Lake County Music Guide.
