Baconfest was enjoyed by thousands of enthusiasts in downtown Kelseyville on Sunday afternoon. Eleven local restaurants participated in the competition: Twin Pine Casino, Grillagan’s Island, Danny’s Roadside BBQ, Ripe Choice Catering, Kitchen Catering, Cook It Ip Pizza, Saw Shop Public House, Lake Event Design, Red’s at the Skyroom, Bad Ass BLT, and O’Meara Bros. brewery all competed for the People’s Choice Award, a Bacon Master Chef’s Hat, and $500. $250 went to the second-place winner and $100 to the third-place.

Red’s took home the big money with Saw Shop Public House coming in second and Grillagans Island third.

Children enjoyed Villa Snow Cones, face painting by Chayo, beading, and art projects in the Kid Korral. The parents and members of Terra Seifert’s Girl Scout Troop # 10145 oversaw the activities.

Numerous food vendors were on hand for those without a Baconfest ticket and local wineries, breweries and cider houses provided refreshments while local artists and crafters added to an incredible downtown shopping experience.

Music by Hot Roux kept dancers dancing and magician Chase Martin keep the crowd guessing…and entertained.

The Kelseyville Business Association certainly has been blessed with the success of this fourth annual Lake County Beer, Wine, and Swine event. Thanks to all who organize and participated.
