Objects of My Affection It Rained Once
Mary Wilson is an Adult Education Specialist and anthropology instructor for the Lake County Campus of Woodland Community College (LCC-WCC). She moved to Lake County for that position in October 2016. For a decade prior to her move, she was the outreach coordinator for a tribal college on the Lac du Flambeau reservation, where she also taught Native American Studies and Sociology. She is an emerging poet who has been hosting open mics for the past year, including a 10-week virtual open mic co-sponsored by LCC-WCC and the Middletown Art Center. Currently, she is building a food forest with her partner, Tony, in Clearlake. Tony and Mary are also in the process of forming a non-profit, Niwa Food Forest. The mission of Niwa is “to promote, educate, and facilitate regenerative gardening practices locally.
