The Lake County Silver Foundation has been hard at work, planning for its 4th Annual Senior Summit. Designed to honor seniors for their inspirational lives, achievements and continuing legacy, we are heartened by the many wonderful supporting donors and the joyful excitement expressed by seniors registering early for the event.
A focus of this event revolves around providing health and wellness information and resources to Lake County seniors and elders. We have had one eye toward making this the most successful event ever and the other watching the world cope with a new and very contagious virus.
Unfortunately, as we near the event date of April 4th, the health concerns for large gatherings continue to unfold, with seniors being among the most vulnerable. Because of the uncertainties of how to both protect our elders and provide an optimum experience we are postponing the event until better information is available.
“We will release a new date as soon as possible,” said Foundation President Jim Steele. “In the meantime, we are developing health and resource information through a newsletter for Lake County seniors. The newsletter will be a continuing outlet for information focused on senior issues and news,” he said.
Inspirational Senior Award nominations will be held until the event is rescheduled and all who have already registered for the April 4 event date will be notified by phone.
